Each year on May 6, Navaoli Jyothirdinam is observed to commemorate the spiritual merger of Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru with the Supreme Divine Light. In the lead-up to the 2013 observance, Santhigiri Swami Gururethnam launched a statewide lecture series that garnered wide public and media attention. Beginning on February 25, 2013, from Chandiroor—the birthplace of the Guru—Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi delivered thought-provoking discourses addressing contemporary societal issues. Through these lectures, he issued a clarion call for moral renewal, spiritual life, and collective dedication to building a welfare state. The series concluded on May 5, 2013, the eve of Navaoli Jyothirdinam.
Under Swami’s visionary leadership, a series of Sat-Sangs and fraternal gatherings were organized across all Taluks of Kerala, as well as in major centers across India and international locations such as Dubai. These gatherings, guided by the values of Santhigiri Ashram, aimed to cultivate moral awareness, strengthen spiritual values, and encourage family-centered initiatives for the upliftment of society.
